RRR-78RPM Show – January 21, 2018

Rapidly Rotating Records 78RPM Logo

Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and’30s.

I had hoped to do this week’s show live from the newly transformed KISL studio complex in City Park, Avalon, Santa Catalina Island, California, but unfortunately, the new equipment is not quite fully functional. The studio is undergoing a remarkable metamorphosis and I will post pictures and do a live show just as soon as possible. Regardless you still get a top-notch recorded show here. This week we’ll take it *and* leave it, have a fine how do you do, play some cardiac songs and play some songs about the acetabulofemoral joint. If you’re not am orthopedic surgeon or chiropractor, just listen to the show to find out what that is. There are at least a couple of records making their RRR debut. There are at least a couple of records making their RRR debut. On your last segment, I was hoping to hear Al Bowlly’s classic “My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes” from’snake-hipping’ too much! Maybe next time.
Also, your reference to a nightclub at Eddy and Powell in SF. Well, that one is gone, but just down the street (behind the Flood Building on Eddy) is the fabulous John Grill’s, mentioned in the Maltese Falcon. Best Tim in Oakland
