Last week I mentioned that a number of members of Art Hickman’s 1919/1920 orchestra at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco went on to lead their own bands. So this segment will feature some of those Hickman alumni.

September 26 marked the birth in 1894 in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois of Leonore Vonderleith. You may know her better as “The Ha Ha Happiness Girl”, “The First Lady of Radio”, or “The Original RadioGirl”, Vaughn DeLeath.
