Rapidly Rotating Records Logo

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

On this evening’s show we’ll celebrate the birthdays of Paul Whiteman and Harry Houdini, take a gamble, have a vocabulary lesson, and listen to this past week in recording history.

Enjoy the show!

Here’s the complete playlist:

Segment 1: Escape

It’s time now for this week’s vocabulary lesson. The word for this evening is epistemic, an adjective that means “of or relating to knowledge or knowing.” And I just know you’re gonna love this next set of rapidly rotating records.

Don’t Know and Don’t Care – Memphis Jazzers
You Gotta Know How – Arcadian Serenaders / Morty Livington

Segment 4: Gambling
I’m just back from Las Vegas where I visited with my aunt and cousin who were out here from Boston for a little vacation. So here’s a set of rapidly rotating records having to do with gambling.

Ace in the Hold – Al Katz and His Kittens
Buckin’ the Dice – Fats Waller and His Rhythm
