Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – 27 July 2003

Rapidly Rotating Records Logo

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

On this evening’s show, we’re going to play three songs. Well, actually we’ll play more than three songs, but they’ll all have to do with the number three. We’ll have some threes, some thirds, and even a segment with a trio of trios. That’s because we’re celebrating our third anniversary on the air here at KISL. It all started July 23, 2000, and we’re still here and going strong.

Enjoy the THIRD ANNIVERSARY show!

Here’s the complete playlist:

Segment 1: Happy Third Anniversary
What better way to start off this third anniversary show than with Fats Waller and Smashing Thirds.

Smashing Thirds – Fats Waller
Three Little Words – Frank Brown ah Tooters /Irving Mills
Three’s a Crowd – Anson Weeks AHO / Art Wilson

Segment 2: Trios
This second segment of the show doesn’t have any songs with “three” in the title, but all of them are performed by a group of three performers. Here’s a trio of rapidly rotating records by trios

If I Had My Way, Pretty Baby – Ernest Stevens Trio
Jazzing Around – Eubie Blake Trio
After That – Fulcher’s Dance Trio

Segment 3: Three Three’s
This is a special third anniversary edition of the show, so here’s a set of three “three” songs

Three Moods – Tommy Dorsey AHO

Segment 4: Three
Continuing tonight’s “three” theme …
