Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

We celebrate a lot of birthdays on the show…musicians, composers, historical figures, and so on. Well, today, July 13, marks the birth in 19, well, never mind what year, of…yours truly. So, a couple of segments of tonight’s show will do a variation on “this week in recording history” and feature rapidly rotating records that were also born, so to speak, on July 13.

Segment 2: Crime
July 7 in 1943, “Casey, Crime Photographer” was heard for the first time on CBS radio. The character was created by George Harmon Coxe and appeared in novels, short stories, comic books, films, radio and television.
