Segment 1: Mothers’ Day
In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson officially proclaimed Mother’s Day as a national holiday to be held on the second Sunday of May. So here for all the mothers out there, as well as mothers to be, and anyone who has mother, is the first of three sets of songs about mothers.

Although Anna Jarvis’ is credited for having Mother’s Day proclaimed a national holiday, she was outraged by the commercialization of the holiday and filed a lawsuit to stop a 1923 Mother’s Day festival.
