Segment 1: Smith Ballew
January 21 marked the birth in 1902 in Palestine, Texas, of singer, bandleader and actor, Smith Ballew.

January 24 way back in 1899, a patent was issued to a printer, Humphrey O’Sullivan, for the rubber heel. So here to commemorate Humphrey O’Sullivan’s rubber heels are some rapidly rotating records about shoes
