Segment 1: Saxophone
November 6 marked the birth in 1841 in Belgium of inventor Antoine Joseph Sax. At age 20, he invented a bass clarinet and became widely known in musical circles, then invented several new families of instruments, including saxhorns, saxtrombas, and of course, saxophones. So here to commemorate Adolphe Saxe’s invention, are some about and featuring…the saxophone.
