August 4 marked the birth in 1897 in Chicago, Illinois of of Abraham Simon Lyman.

Segment 3: Annie
August 5 in 1924, the comic strip “Little Orphan Annie” debuted in the New York “Daily News”. In the original concept, the main character was a boy named Otto, it’s a good thing Gray changed the name of the strip from Little Orphan Otto to Little Orphan Annie, because I don’t think I have any songs about Ottos, but I have some about Annies.
