Rapidly Rotating Records Logo

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

This evening we’re going to enjoy a spot of “tea”, hear about “right and wrong”, listen to some timely songs, and have an etiquette lesson.

Enjoy the show!

Here’s the complete playlist:

Segment 1: Tea
To get us started, how about a nice cuppa?

A Nice Cup of Tea – Billy Cotton
The Boston Tea Party – Mal Hallet AHO / Buddy Welcome, v.
Tea for Two – Waring’s Pennsylvanians / The Three Girlfriends, v.
Teapot Dome Blues – Fletcher Henderson and His Club Alabam Orchestra

Segment 2: Right & Wrong
November 2 marked the opening in 1937 of the politically satirical play “I’d Rather Be Right”. So here to commemorate “I’d Rather Be Right”, are some songs about right and wrong.

October 30 in 1894, Daniel M. Cooper of Rochester, New York patented the time clock. So to commemorate Mr. Cooper’s time clock, here’s a set of songs with some specific times that a time clock might punch.

October 30 marked the birth in 1872 of Emily Price. In 1890 Emily married Edwin Post, to become Emily Post. The etiquette authority who defined manners for millions of Americans wrote society fiction and essays before writing her classic book Etiquette – The Blue Book of Social Usage. So here are some songs in honor of Emily Post.
