A “6 7” Edition of RRR # 1,323 November 23, 2025

6 7 Word of the Year

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

The featured graphic on this week’s Rapidly Rotating Records playlist is the number sixty-seven. It is, however, the numbers six and seven. So why is that? Very few, if any, of our listeners will know the significance of those numbers, but listen to the fourth segment of the show and you’ll find out. Marcy Klauber and Bob Larkan will be having birthday segments. We’ll also do some row, row, rowing and hear some ragtime songs. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Just click the link above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.

Hi Glenn, Having just listened to your latest show, I’d appreciate your comments about the WCRF. I am planning to go next year, after a 3-year absence. My friend Chuck Larrabee from Albuquerque was there and enjoyed it. He was told that the all-events passes sold at least as well as last year, but it was thought there were fewer single-day attendees. He also said that plans are already underway for next year, so I guess the rumors I had heard about its financial solvency were incorrect. I hope so.

Chuck also said the Sunday reception was disappointing. It replaced the dinner that had been the practice but which got too expensive and was eliminated. Do your impressions of this, and the festival in general, mirror Chuck’s? Thanks for your comments.
