A “Radio” Edition of RRR #1,297 May 25, 2025

RKO Radio Picture Logo Antenna Atop The World

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

So why is there a graphic of a giant radio transmitter tower atop the world for this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records? Well, because May is National Radio Month and in the final segment of the show we’re celebrating with three radio related records not heard on the show before. The show starts off with a correction from last week’s show in which I inadvertently played the wrong record! In other segments, we’ll hear the rest of the sides recorded by The Californiacs and three more sides from George Brooks. And you’ll find out exactly who George Brooks is! Dan Sullivan gets his own birthday segment, we’ll take a trip to the cemetery and have a segment about numbers. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Just click the link above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.
