A “Halley, Halley and Halley” Edition of RRR #1226 Jan. 14, 2024

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Welcome to a “Halley, Halley and Halley” edition of Rapidly Rotating Records. In addition to William J. Halley’s birthday, we’ll be celebrating Seymour Simons’ birthday. Pictured above is one of the records you’ll be hearing his segment. The Jazz-O-Harmonists was a pseudonym for Louis Katzman and His Orchestra. To start off the show we’ll be shining our shoes, and there’s also a “seventeen” segment. Vocalist Will Halley is not to be confused with composer Bill Halley, so he also has a segment on this week’s show. There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Click on the player above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.
