A Ragged RRR # 1218 November 19, 2023

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

While you were listening to the original over-the-air broadcast of this show on KISL, I was actually in Rancho Cordova, California where the 37th Annual West Coast Ragtime Festival had just concluded. With having to get ready to travel for the festival, I decided to make it a little easier on myself in terms of the playlist. No biographies or historical events, but each segment starting off with a ragtime piece followed by a couple of pieces about the subject of the rag. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Click on the player above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.
