Segment 1: Marriage
December 12 in 1917 The play, “Why Marry?”, opened at the Astor Theatre in New York City. Jesse Lynch Williams won a Pulitzer the following year; “Why Marry?” So, in commemoration, here are some songs about marriage.

December 24, Christmas Eve marked the birth in 1893 of Salvatore Anthony Guaragna. You may recognize him by the name Harry Warren, but even if you don’t, you most certainly will recognize his songs. Here’s a quartet of songs from the pen of Songwriter’s Hall of Famer, Harry Warren.
