Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – January 24, 2021

Carrier Pigeon Blues Luella Miller

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

The fourth segment of this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records is all about pigeons, and there’s a very specific reason I’ll be playing the record above and three other records about pigeons. Listen to the show to find out all about the island’s very interesting and historic connection to pigeons. In other segments, we’ll be playing records relating to the recent NCAA Championship game,  and celebrating James V. Monaco’s birthday. In a little less upbeat segment, we’ll hear some depression era songs about starvation. But the first segment opens the show with some very happy records.  There’s lots of great music and interesting information so…

ENJOY THE SHOW!

I hope you are all safe and healthy and doing as well as you can be given the current world situation and stay-at-home orders and that this hour of music gives you a bit of diversion and entertainment. Thanks for listening and best wishes!
