Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – January 30, 2022

Fred Winter

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who this fellow is? He’s Swedish composer and bandleader Fred Winter, whose real name is Sten Arvid Vilhel, Njurling. No wonder he changed it for the foreign market! You’ll hear three of Winter’s many records in the second segment of this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records. We’ll also be celebrating two other birthdays, those of Irene Beasley and Oreste Migliaccio. Rather than change his name, he chose to go by just his first name, Oreste.  For the fourth segment we’ll enjoy some coffee and in the final segment, we’ll clean up and do the dishes. There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different (and we think better!) musical era.

ENJOY THE SHOW!
