Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – July 11, 2021

Lou Chiha "Frisco"

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who the fellow is in the photograph above? It’s xylophonist Lou Chiha, who went by the professional name “Frisco.” Listen to the second segment of this week’s show and you’ll find how he came to use that name.  In the first segment, we’ll clarify a statement made on last week’s show and have a set of rapidly rotating records about boarding houses. Listeners of a certain age will know right away what the acronym WPA stands for, but if you don’t you’ll find out in the third segment.  In the fourth segment we’ll do some dusting and finish up the show by playing dominoes!  There’s lots of great music and interesting information so…

ENJOY THE SHOW!

Thanks for listening! Your comments, questions, requests and suggestions for segment topics are always welcome and can be sent by email via the link on this website. You can also leave them on the RRR Facebook page. THANK YOU!
