Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – June 19, 2022

Buttermilk Biscuits

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Who doesn’t LOVE fresh, piping hot, flaky buttermilk biscuits right out of the oven.  You can almost smell those gorgeous fluffy biscuits right on the screen. But why in the world is there a picture of biscuits for this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records? Well because in the fifth segment of this week’s show we’ll be playing a set of rapidly rotating records about…biscuits!  You’ll hear songs by Memphis Minnie, Georgia White and Alex Bartha and His Hotel Traymore Orchestra. But remember, sometimes a biscuit is just a biscuit! This week there are not five, but six segments on the show. We’ll be celebrating the birthdays of Cliff Hess and William Tracey, his for the first time. We’ll have a vocabulary lesson, enjoy a couple of black and tans (songs, not the drink!), play “One Thing in Common” and adhere to our 6:59:45 PM broadcast curfew.  There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different–and we thing better–musical era.

ENJOY THE SHOW!
